Open Positions

Semantic Rules - Principal Engineer

Revelytix is seeking a senior level principal engineer in the Maryland/Virginia region, to lead up the design, development, and testing of a new rules engine using semantic technologies (RDF, SPARQL, RIF). This is a full-time, salaried position requiring some amount of travel. This position requires 3+ years experience in semantic technologies and rules systems, 5+ years experience developing production software with Java and functional languages, and active experience using Clojure or a related functional programming language. The ideal candidate must have minimum of a BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics, plus a minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience. See detailed description of position.

Ontology Architect

Must have at least three years experience developing RDF and OWL based ontologies across several domains. Must be familiar with buidling ontologies to solve specific businss issues. Must understand how to integrate ontologies using RDF and OWL. Must be an expert SPARQL developer and be conversant with analytic use cases based on ontologies.

Semantic Solutions Specialist

Revelytix is looking for highly motivated individuals with strong logical and abstract thinking skills. All applicants and experience levels will be considered. A Semantic Solutions Specialist's primary responsibility is working collaboratively with Business Subject Matter Experts and ontologists to facilitate the development of RDF/OWL ontologies. Other responsibilities include product training, technical support and supporting the pre-sales efforts as needed.  Successful candidates will have a dynamic personality and be adaptable to changing requirements. 

Responsibilites include:

• Working with a team and individually to develop ontologies
• Developing a strong understanding of the syntax and semantics of RDF, RDFS and OWL
• Becoming proficient in using knoodl.com and the open-source ontology editor Protege
• Supporting sales team by performing product demonstrations

Ontology Engineer

Revelytix is also looking for experienced, knowledgeable individuals in the field of ontology development. The Ontologist is responsible for designing and building RDF/OWL ontologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or three years experience with OWL/RDF-based ontology development
• Experience in a substantial subset of the following technologies and engineering practices: taxonomy and ontology development, XML and OWL schema development, content or entity extraction, metadata and metadata creation, automated tools to support schema integration and analysis, taxonomy and ontology workbenches and analysis tools, and related current and emerging representation and query standards
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project
• Reliable, self-motivated, and focused on quality and client objectives
• Familiar with SPARQL
• Eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance

Adobe Flex Developer

Revelytix is also looking for experienced, Flex programmer with at least 3 years experience working with Flex and ActionScript. Duties will include programming new interfaces, dashboard components and charting applications as well as maintaining our current Flex applications with our Flex team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or three years experience with enterprise software development.
• Professional experience programming Flex applications using an MVC framework, preferably Cairngorm.
• Experience with Flex 3 and 4 SDKs.
• Familiarity with the Flash Player drawing APIs, FXG and the Flex Charting Components.
• Experience working with BlazeDS and Flex Data Services.
• JAVA and /or Closure, RDF, OWL and SPARQL experience a huge plus.

Summer Internship

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting teams with tasks related to ontology development
• Will develop an understanding of RDF, RDFS and OWL, as well as querying languages such as SPARQL

Qualifications include:

• Currently studying computer science, mathematics, philosophy or another related field
• An interest in philosophy and/or the semantic web
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project
• Dynamic personality that can adapt to changing requirements
• Ability to work as part of a team
